Industry Insight | As ADIPEC Opens, ThinkRace Outlines a Workforce Solution for Energy and Industrial Sites

ADIPEC, the international energy exhibition and conference, opened in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on November 2, 2026, and runs through November 5. Bringing together exhibitions, industry discussions and technical exchange, the event includes dedicated AI and Digitalisation Zones.

Against this backdrop, ThinkRace outlines an approach to workforce coordination built around MT4, Traxbean and device-side development through its SDK. The proposed solution connects worker location, emergency assistance and inspection communication with operational workflows.

Turning Workforce Information into Action

Large facilities, maintenance sites and distributed inspection routes require coordination across teams, including people working alone. Supervisors need to locate relevant personnel, workers need convenient ways to contact colleagues, and control-room teams need to confirm who is handling an alert and whether a task is complete.

Location tracking, communication and work orders each provide useful information. Their practical value depends on how they connect during a shift. ThinkRace’s approach uses a wrist-worn terminal as the field interface, linking worker information and task updates with back-office processes.

Five Problems MT4 Can Help Address

1. Locating Teams Across a Large Site

MT4 location data can be connected to Traxbean. Together with update timestamps and historical routes, this helps supervisors review personnel distribution and task areas when coordinating work or contacting a team.

Indoor, underground and heavily obstructed areas require a separate assessment of positioning infrastructure, compatibility and coverage.

2. Keeping Workers Informed About Changing Boundaries

Maintenance closures and temporary restricted areas can change as work progresses. Geofences configured in Traxbean can generate notifications when personnel enter or leave a defined area.

Where wrist-based prompts are required, integrators can develop the corresponding interactions through the SDK. Geofences should account for positioning accuracy and work alongside physical barriers and site signage.

3. Giving Lone Workers an Accessible Way to Request Help

Wrist-based SOS provides a way to request assistance when using a phone is inconvenient. Location data gives the control-room team additional information to help contact and find the worker. Fall detection can provide an additional signal for staff to investigate.

Acknowledgment, backup contacts and escalation rules can be configured or developed for the project, assigning clear responsibility for follow-up. Fall detection must be tested under actual working conditions and should not be treated as detecting every incident.

4. Supporting Communication Across Equipment and Separate Work Areas

Workers may be on adjacent inspection routes yet unable to speak directly because large equipment separates them.

MT4’s voice interaction and communication capabilities can support contact with colleagues or a control room. Button-activated voice input, quick contact options and spoken task updates can be developed through the SDK according to project requirements. Usability should be verified under expected noise levels, protective equipment and network conditions.

5. Connecting Field Updates with Work Orders

Through the MT4 SDK, customers can develop device-side applications for receiving tasks, confirming arrival and submitting inspection feedback.

Traxbean Open API can connect relevant device data with an existing work-order system. Assignment, feedback and closure workflows can then be developed around the customer’s processes, helping reduce information gaps during handovers.

Adapting the Device to the Customer’s Workflow

Inspection routes, shift patterns, communication rules and enterprise systems vary between projects. MT4 provides a platform for device-side development, allowing integrators to design button behavior, prompts and application workflows. Traxbean handles device data, while Open API supports integration with existing systems.

Deployment should follow field validation: positioning accuracy for zone alerts, false positives and missed events for fall detection, and weak connectivity or unanswered alerts for communication workflows.
